The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA)
ISAOs are further authorized by the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 providing for increased authority of sharing cyber threat indicators and defensive measures for a "cybersecurity purpose" between and among the private sector, and Federal and State/Local/Tribal/Territorial government (SLTT).

To accelerate advancing Air & Space critical infrastructure cyber resilience, a collaborative public- and private-sector collaborative partnership established the Air & Space ISAO (AS-ISAO) at the Global Institute for Cyber Security Resilience at NASA/Kennedy Space Center, FL.; and as a Member of The International Association of Certified ISAOs (IACI).
The mission of the AS-ISAO is to enable, promote and sustain Air & Space cyber resilience via accelerating
security situational awareness information sharing and coordinated response supported by adoption and adaption of best practice operationalized by workforce education.
Critical infrastructure represents the assets, systems and networks (physical or virtual), that are so vital, that incapacitation or destruction would have debilitating and potentially catastrophic impacts within and across global sectors and sub-sectors.
As cyber threats and attacks continue to increase in frequency, severity and sophistication, impacts can result in endangering national security, economies, business continuity and public safety.
